1. Introduction

DisputeFlow ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information when you use our Shopify application and related services.

2. Information We Collect

When you install and use DisputeFlow, we may access and collect certain limited information from your Shopify store, including:

  • Order Information: Line items, amounts, and transaction statuses.
  • Shipping and Billing Details: Addresses and customer contact information associated with orders.
  • Fraud Signals: Address Verification System (AVS) results, Card Verification Value (CVV) match results, and IP location data.
  • Dispute Information: Chargeback reasons, evidence status, and amounts.

We only collect the data strictly necessary to generate chargeback evidence and provide the core functionality of our application.

3. How We Use Information

The information we collect is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Chargeback Evidence: To analyze disputes and automatically generate tailored rebuttal letters and evidence packs.
  • Dispute Analytics: To provide you with insights into dispute outcomes, recovered revenue, and overall chargeback activity.
  • Service Improvement: To improve our AI models' effectiveness at handling different types of disputes and enhance the overall application experience.

4. Data Storage and Security

We take data security seriously. Your information is stored on secure infrastructure using industry-standard protections, including encryption in transit and at rest. We employ strict access controls and regular security audits to ensure your data remains safe.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your merchant or customer data with third parties. Data is only shared when explicitly required to:

  • Process disputes via the Shopify API or your connected payment gateway.
  • Comply with valid legal requests or court orders.

6. Shopify Data Compliance

DisputeFlow fully complies with Shopify's API Terms of Service and data protection requirements. Our application operates within the defined scope of permissions granted during installation, ensuring we only access authorized information.

7. User Rights

As a merchant, you have the right to access, update, or request the deletion of your store's data from our systems. You can manage your preferences or request data removal by contacting our support team. Uninstalling the app from Shopify will also initiate our data retention and deletion workflows as per platform guidelines.
